A month-by-month NEET UG 2026 preparation plan covering syllabus priorities, mock test strategy, and common mistakes to avoid.
NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test — Undergraduate) is the single entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS and other medical courses across India. It is also the qualifying exam that Indian students must clear before pursuing MBBS abroad.
NEET UG is a pen-and-paper test with 200 multiple-choice questions (180 to be attempted) across Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany + Zoology), each carrying 4 marks with negative marking of 1 mark for a wrong answer.
Build strong NCERT fundamentals in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Biology carries the highest weightage — start there.
Move to standard reference books and previous years' NEET papers. Start topic-wise mock tests to identify weak areas.
Take full-length mock tests every week under exam conditions. Revise NCERT line-by-line for Biology — a large share of NEET Biology questions are directly NCERT-based.
Pure revision — formula sheets, diagrams, and previous 5–10 years' papers. Avoid starting new topics.
Once your NEET UG result and rank are out, counselling begins — for MBBS/BDS in India through MCC/state counselling, or for MBBS abroad through direct university admission. Our counsellors can help you understand realistic options based on your score before counselling rounds begin.
NEET UG rewards consistent, NCERT-first preparation over flashy shortcuts. Start early, track your progress with regular mock tests, and reach out for counselling as soon as your result is out — seats fill up fast.
